Check the indicator light (if enabled by your hearing health professional).
If you see quick green flashes, it means your sound processor is receiving sound from the microphones.
If you see quick blue flashes, it means your sound processor is receiving sound from an audio source.
You can find more information about indicator lights on page 46-47 of your Kanso® 2 Sound Processor User Guide.

Check the sound level with the Nucleus® Smart App.
Using the Nucleus® Smart App, check the sound level meter on the Status screen. Make several sounds and watch for the sound level meter to display an increase with the presence of sounds.
Parents and caregivers can monitor sound input by using the Sound Check feature in the Smart App. You can reach Sound Check by tapping the microphone icon on the Status screen.
A hearing person can listen to the recording to make sure your sound processor is receiving sound.
