My sound processor switches off by itself.
-
Ask your clinician if Auto power off is enabled on your sound processor.
If it is, the sound processor will switch off after two minutes when it's not connected to the implant. -
Make sure you're using the correct batteries.
For disposable batteries, we recommend size 675 (PR44), specifically designed for cochlear implants. Don't use silver oxide or alkaline batteries. Note: Let new disposable batteries stand for a few seconds after you peel off their plastic cover and before you put them into your sound processor. -
Make sure there's no dirt or dust on the battery contacts.
Visually inspect the contact areas of the sound processor, battery and battery charger. Refer to the Nucleus 8 Sound Processor User Guide for step-by-step cleaning tips. -
Make sure your rechargeable batteries are charged.
-
Replace the batteries.
There's an easy step-by-step guide for how to do this in your Nucleus 8 Sound Processor User Guide.
