Osia® 2

The sound quality from my sound processor is poor, distorted, or not as clear as usual.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot your sound processor.

  1. Check the Sound Processor cover

Make sure the cover is securely attached to the base unit with no visible gaps.

    • Place the cover over the front of the sound processor base unit and align the button with the cover opening.
    • Press down around the button until you feel a "click" on both sides of the button.

Watch a short video about changing the cover of your Osia® 3 Sound Processor.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

  2. Check for sources of interference

Devices that produce strong electromagnetic fields can interfere with the operation of the sound processor, including:

    • Radio and TV transmission towers
    • Airport metal detectors
    • Commercial theft detection systems
    • RFID scanners
    • Mobile phones

If possible, move away from the source of interference and check whether sound quality improves. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

  3. Ensure the Sound Processor is positioned correctly

    • Place the sound processor on your implant with the button and indicator light facing upward.
    • Proper positioning is important for optimal sound quality and performance.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

  4. You may need a new program

If none of the above resolves the issue, your sound processor may require a programming adjustment.
